HARRISBURG –June 1, 2010: Eighteen outstanding students from high schools across Pennsylvania are making their college dreams a reality with help from the more than 900 franchised new car and truck dealers in Pennsylvania.   The Pennsylvania Automotive Association Foundation (PAAF) Community Service Scholarship Fund awarded each student $5,000 per year in scholarships to fund their post-secondary education.

Hershey, PA - March 3, 2010:  Mike Avissato and Ben Crandall, students at Wallenpaupack Area High School in Hawley, Pennsylvania, were the winners of the PAA Foundation sponsored Automotive Technology Competition held on March 3, 2010, at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. The students will advance to the 2010 National Automotive Technology Competition to be held April 2-11, 2009, at the New York International Auto Show in Manhattan.

2009

 

Pittsburgh, PA - May 28, 2009:  The Thomas E. Starzl Transplant Institute of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center will benefit from a $25,000 donation presented to the Institute in the memory of George G. Benson.  George, who was the owner of Benson Lincoln Mercury in Whitehall Borough for more than 25 years, died on February 11, 2009 after a courageous and determined battle with liver cancer.

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – March 5, 2009:  Johnathan Nyman and Bryan Schaefer, students at Jersey Shore Area High School in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, were the winners of the PAA Foundation sponsored Automotive Technology Competition held on March 4, 2009, at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel and Convention Center.  The students will advance to the 2009 National Automotive Technology Competition to be held April 10-19, 2009, at the New York International Auto Show in Manhattan.

Camp Hill – February15, 2009:  On March 4, 2009, high school automotive technology students from Central and Northeast Pennsylvania will compete for thousands of dollars in college scholarships, prizes, and equipment.  The eighth annual Automotive Technology Competition will be held at the Radisson Penn Harris Hotel and Convention Center in Camp Hill.  The Competition will begin at 10 a.m.

2008

 

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – May 15, 2008:  Twenty-nine Automotive technology students will soon begin pursuing their college degrees with help from the Pennsylvania Automotive Association (PAA) Foundation’s Scholarship Program.  Recipients of these $10,000 and $5,000 scholarships from the PAA Foundation, sponsored by Pennsylvania’s new car and truck dealers, will attend automotive collegiate programs throughout the state. A total of $265,000 was awarded in 2008 to high school seniors who have participated in the Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) programs or are graduating from automotive technology programs in Pennsylvania.  Each year, students who are sponsored by a new car or truck dealer are eligible to apply for PAAF scholarships.

Greencastle, Pennsylvania – March 4, 2008:  The Paul K. and Anna E. Shockey Family Foundation, a fund of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association Foundation, has gifted $200,000 to the Allison-Antrim Museum.

 

 

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – February 29, 2008:  Each year, the Pennsylvania Automotive Association, through the AYES Program, acknowledges a mentor and intern team that embodies the spirit and support of the AYES initiative.  This year, high school senior Lisa Kochersperger and her mentor, Barbara Dudycz, from Dick Greenfield Dodge and Isuzu in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, have been awarded the Mentor and Intern of the Year Award.

Camp Hill, Pennsylvania – February 6, 2008:  The best high school automotive technology students from Central and Northeast Pennsylvania will compete for thousands of dollars in college scholarships, prizes and equipment at the seventh annual PAA Automotive Technology Competition.  The competition will be held on February 14, 2008, at the Radisson Penn Harris Convention Center in Camp Hill, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
